MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS SPECIALISTPurpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to translate engineering documents and CAD geometry into Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing structures within the company’s ERP/MRP system providing all relevant information generated shop orders and standard cost for all manufactured products.
Responsibility and Authority:This position must be able to interpret drawings and apply engineering standards needed to create accurate BOM and routings in the MRP/ERP System. The MRP/ERP system will utilize this data to generate the shop paper required to direct products throughout the appropriate work centers while consuming the required materials.
This position must communicate with design, programming, purchasing, customer service, sales, manufacturing, engineering and scheduling to ensure all requirements are met to ensure the structure is complete and accurate based on the product’s intent.
Essential Functions of the Position:- Print reading and interpretation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Highly Motivated, Goal Oriented, Self-Starter
- Excellent Organizational Skills
- Experience with data entry (ability to type: 10-key a plus)
- Basic MRP/ERP understanding
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred 1-5 years of experience in manufacturing environment. Need to have experience in reading design prints with strong computer skills. Sheet metal knowledge preferred but not required.
WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR ABILITIES WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR THE JOB?Need to be self motivated with good organizational skills. Need to be able to prioritize jobs as well as be able to multitask. Good communication skills (oral and written) are required as this position communicates with the production floor, design, purchasing, customer service, sales, manufacturing engineering, scheduling, etc.
