AZAD is seeking a Travel Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse, RN for a Full-Time W2 Contract position in Pikeville, Kentucky. Candidates must reside 75+ miles away from Pikeville, KY.
Schedule: Days working hours. 48‑hour weeks.
Assignment Duration: 13‑week assignment with probability of extension.
Compensation & BenefitsHourly compensation $41.00 - $45.00 with daily non‑taxed stipends of lodging $110.00 and meal $68.
Total Estimated Weekly Income: $3,124.00 - $3,406.00.

Job SummaryThe Client seeks a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Lab Staff RN to provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. The RN performs pre‑procedure preparation, intra‑procedure monitoring, and post‑procedure recovery, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes while collaborating with physicians and the Cath Lab team in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.
Pre/Post Area Responsibilities- Demonstrate basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment.
- Cardiac Monitoring.
- Care of and/or recovery of patients pre/post interventional cardiac procedures.
- Care of patients with vascular closure devices: application, maintenance, and removal.
- Maintain/Pull arterial and/or venous sheaths.
- Operate ACT machine.
- Minimal sedation; use moderate sedation with safety and prevention guidelines.
- Assist with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) following safety guidelines; perform 'Bubble' method when required.
- Pain management and follow‑up pain reassessment.
- Blood draws using appropriate order‑of‑draw for labs.
- IV therapy, IV add‑ons, infusion of blood and blood products.
- Information management.
- ICD and pacemaker (temporary and permanent) pre/post care and recovery.
- Care of and/or recovery of patients pre/post interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology procedures.
- Assist with vascular procedures, including IVC filters, run‑offs, acute and chronic occlusions.
- Assist with peripheral balloons and stents.
- Assist with thermodilution and invasive monitoring.
- Assist with IVUS procedures.
- Assist with interventional radiology (IR) procedures, FFR, electrophysiology (EP) procedures, RF ablations, cryoablations.
- Assist with insertion of intra‑aortic balloon pump and troubleshoot.
- Assist with loop recorder insertion and ICD/pacemaker (temporary and permanent).
- Assist with spectranetics laser.
- Perform synchronized cardioversion/defibrillation.
- Pain management and follow‑up reassessment.
- Monitor for, manage, and use anaphylactic kit for anaphylactic reactions.
- Associate’s degree in nursing required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- KY RN license required.
- CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EKG required.
- 2 years’ experience required, 5 years preferred.
- 12‑24 months of prior travel experience required.
