The team provides patient care and supportive services directed toward positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in their own plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization.

The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, patient experience, quality and safety, and cost‑effective care.

The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

The James Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) delivers evidence‑based, high‑quality post‑operative and post‑procedural nursing care to oncology and surgical patients transitioning from anesthesia. This role provides specialized assessment, monitoring, and interventions to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal recovery. The PACU nurse collaborates closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary care teams within a nationally recognized academic medical center.

• 2‑year college degree in nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a major in nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program (preferred).
• Current Ohio RN license or interim permit (required).
• 2 years of experience in a relevant care setting (preferred).
• Maintains current Ohio RN license.
• Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.
• Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions.
