Position Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers ensuring patients, families and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model.

Responsibilities
  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking to ensure individualized care.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that adapts to cultural diversity.
  • Conduct bedside shift reports; keep patients and significant others updated, focusing on the patients’ goals in the plan of care.
  • Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration while practicing in a fiscally responsible manner to promote recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
  • Participate and support performance improvement initiatives, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels, including initiating and leading activities.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, students, or all disciplines to develop a qualified workforce.
  • Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including value analysis during patient care product evaluation.
  • Uphold health‑care system and organizational policies, procedures, clinical competencies, and regulatory requirements, ensuring safety goals and standards.
  • Participate in data collection, pose relevant clinical questions, and proactively plan for patient care across the continuum.
  • Contribute to development of protocols and procedures, collaborating with care managers and the health‑care team to achieve best practice outcomes and efficient resource use.
Qualifications
  • Associates in Nursing or Diploma (RN) or Bachelor's Nursing (Preferred).
  • RN – Regular Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (RN – Multi‑state Compact).
  • Minimum 2 years direct patient‑care nursing experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic computer skills and use of technology to support clinical care.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect.
  • Proficiency in evidence‑based and analytical nursing practices, with strong critical thinking skills.
