Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgical unit, assisting in their recovery and ensuring patient safety. Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered services in a dynamic hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions, record accurate assessments, and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with bedside procedures, utilizing advanced clinical skills as needed.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, medication management, and recovery processes.
• Maintain thorough documentation in the Meditech system and ensure compliance with unit policies.
• Float to inpatient units, CCU, and ED as required to support staffing needs.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Kentucky.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications as needed.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a patient load independently.
• Strong communication and patient-centered care skills.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as scheduled.
