Electrical Safety Inspector Field, South

Location

Position covers South‑Central Ohio including Fayette, Ross, Vinton, Highland & Jackson counties. Must reside in one of these counties or an adjacent county to be eligible.

• Perform field inspections using approved architectural and/or engineer‑designed drawings.
• Coordinate inspections with other inspectors and supervisor as needed during construction.
• Conduct inspections of existing buildings and structures for safety to determine if Certificates of Occupancy may be issued.
• Prepare detailed reports (written or electronic) on inspections performed for submission to the bureau office.
• Itemize violations to electrical and building codes.

• Certificate of competency as an electrical safety inspector issued by the Board of Building Standards, per Section 3783.03 of the Revised Code.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to meet an agility assessment to ensure capability to endure hazardous elements of the position.

• Electrical Trade.
• Basic documentation, clerical & data entry.
• Customer service, attention to detail, customer focus.

• Compensation: $30.55 – $44.74 per hour.

  Full‑time.
• Work hours:
  
  8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change).
• Union: OCSEA.
