Unicorn Scientist

Overview

The Dubai Institute of People (DIP) is actively seeking a highly motivated and innovative "Unicorn Scientist" to join our team on a volunteer basis. This role, a concept coined by DIP President Ahmer Hilal Shah, is designed for an individual with a rare and valuable combination of scientific rigor, business acumen, and foresight. The ideal candidate will conduct research to identify emerging market opportunities and the specific expertise required for startups to achieve "unicorn" status—a valuation of $1 billion or more.

This is unpaid volunteer work and contributes towards research and educational needs.

• Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on global and regional market trends to identify new and disruptive business opportunities.
• Expertise Mapping: Pinpoint the specific skills, technologies, and intellectual property that are essential for building a unicorn in target sectors.
• Strategic Advisory: Present findings and recommendations to the DIP leadership and a select group of C-level executives.
• Knowledge Contribution: Contribute to white papers, reports, and presentations on the "science" of building high-growth companies.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other DIP members and partners to foster a community of innovation.

• A strong background in a scientific or technological field (e.g., AI, computer science, engineering, biotechnology).
• Demonstrated knowledge of venture capital, business strategy, and market dynamics.
• Exceptional research, analytical, and communication skills.
• The ability to think critically and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• A passion for entrepreneurship and the mission of the Dubai Institute of People.

Commitment: This is a voluntary role requiring a commitment of 2-4 hours per week for a period of three months.

Incentive: Upon successful completion of the three-month volunteer term, the individual will be offered an official position as a Member of the Dubai Institute of People's Board of Advisors.
