Research Support In Forensic Science Examination Lab

To provide research support in the Forensic Science Examination Lab on various projects on the interpretation of fingerprint, firearm and trace evidence.

• Set personal goals and track progress toward them.
• Write clear and professional emails appropriate to the workplace.
• Analyze problems and propose practical solutions.
• Evaluate different options before recommending a course of action.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Learn new software or digital platforms as needed for your role.

• Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data
• Facilitate gathering of materials and data for various projects and reports; write summaries of project findings as requested
• Maintain a laboratory notebook
• Present research findings
• Work safely in the laboratory
• Work with graduate students

• Forensic Science Major in good academic standing
• Good organizational skills and neatness
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with data analysis and statistics

The student will work under the direct supervision of the faculty member.
