Job Overview
The Store Manager leads Mattress Firm’s vision, company initiatives, and achieves sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for the execution of in‑store merchandising across multiple units. The role also supports omni‑channel experiences, fosters a customer‑centered environment, and develops a motivated, high‑performance team.
Responsibilities- Lead and execute company initiatives, sales performance goals, and store merchandising across multiple units.
- Support omni‑channel experience and drive related KPI results.
- Create a compelling, engaging environment for all MFRM team members, keeping the customer at the center.
- Coach associates, develop skills and performance, foster collaboration, and maintain motivation.
- Conduct one‑on‑one meetings to understand team motivations and personal/professional aspirations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive team “bio book” that evolves with new insights.
- Facilitate 30‑60‑90‑day check‑ins with new team members.
- Create and manage store staffing schedules, reconcile punches, and use Operations tools.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, appearance and functionality standards, and state regulations.
- Represent the Company brand in all internal and external interactions.
- Follow procedures for product transfers and inventory documentation.
- Plan strategically and analyze reports to set appropriate staffing levels.
- Provide product and technical knowledge to associates and customers; act as subject‑matter expert.
- Analyze reports to identify skill gaps and address them through coaching.
- Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
- Ensure product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards are met.
- Plan, implement, and monitor store social‑media strategy in partnership with marketing.
- Maintain timely opening and closing procedures; manage stock inventory levels.
- Review merchandise flow for accuracy; conduct store‑level inventory processes and reconcile discrepancies.
- Follow cash handling procedures, including payment acceptance and deposit processes.
- Adhere to all sales processing policies for accurate invoicing.
- Execute company initiatives and any supervisor requests.
- Maintain competitive awareness and develop counter‑strategies.
- Lift, push or pull 50+ pounds as required.

Competitive pay range of $75,000–85,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience. Eligible leadership and individual‑contributor roles may have additional bonus opportunities at the discretion of the Company.
