Regional Sales Manager – Orthopedic Medical Device Sales
SNAPSHOT
A growing medical device company is looking for a driven Regional Sales Manager to expand business across a multi-state territory. This is an opportunity to represent an innovative orthopedic technology while partnering closely with distributors, surgeons, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers to drive adoption and long-term growth.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the operating room, building strong clinical relationships, developing distributor networks, and growing market share in a competitive environment.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of medical device sales experience, preferably within orthopedics, surgical technologies, or capital equipment
- Experience working with independent distributors and/or 1099 sales representatives
- Strong understanding of orthopedic procedures, particularly joint reconstruction or related specialties
- Demonstrated success growing territories, expanding customer relationships, and exceeding sales goals
- Comfortable supporting surgeons and clinical teams in the operating room
- Experience selling into hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs)
- Knowledge of the hospital sales process, including Value Analysis Committee (VAC) reviews and product approvals
- Ability to educate physicians, clinical staff, and distributor partners on product use and clinical applications
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently
- Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Competitive mindset with a customer-first approach
Key Responsibilities
- Grow territory revenue by developing new business and expanding existing customer relationships
- Support surgeons through product evaluations, clinical education, and operating room case coverage
- Partner with distributor representatives to drive utilization and identify growth opportunities
- Recruit and develop additional distributor partners as needed
- Deliver product training and ongoing education for physicians and clinical staff
- Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and execute regional growth strategies
- Maintain accurate CRM updates, inventory management, expense reporting, and sales activity tracking
- Stay current on market trends, competitive products, and industry developments
- Ensure customer concerns and product feedback are communicated appropriately
