• Ensures that all rooms are in proper order before and after the arrival of residents; checks fire equipment and ensures good working order.
• Opens and closes the lodge/shelter doors at designated hours of operation, as needed.
• Monitors the activities of the lodge/shelter residents, ensuring safety and compliance with house rules; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors and makes periodic rounds of the entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.

Physical effort is required for walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• One year experience performing security or social service work preferred OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
