Position: NIGHT SHIFT SKILLED TRADES WORKER

NIGHT SHIFT SKILLED TRADES WORKER

This position is a journeyman‑level role providing skilled technical work in plumbing systems. The worker will assist an onsite plumber with modifying all building DI water systems and respond to plumbing repairs during the shift. The position is primarily performed under general supervision and may be performed independently for lower level tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to use standard hand tools and equipment common to the mechanical and structural trades.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards of mechanical and electrical building equipment and tools associated with maintenance activities.
  • Ability to relate well with others (customers, co‑workers, supervisors, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform routine troubleshooting of MEP systems.
  • Ability to perform administrative functions related to building systems maintenance (complete forms, record filing, etc.).
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Assist and support the replacement of building DI water systems and associated equipment. (40%)
  • Assist in responding to and repairing building plumbing systems and utility infrastructure services (gas, water, sewer). (30%)
  • Assist on jobs best scheduled for after hours to minimize disruption of service to building occupants. (10%)
  • Understand and follow work order processes, providing job details and follow up when needed. (10%)
  • Interact and communicate professionally with customers on jobs when coordinating work is required. (10%)
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, climb stairs, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, work with hands above head and work from standard or extended ladder.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs during a normal work shift.
  • Drive as needed to perform job tasks.
Other Requirements
  • Driving is a responsibility of this position.
  • This is a Position of Trust.
  • The position does not have access to financial resources and does not require a P‑Card.
  • Security Access is required.
