Position SummaryThis is a semi‑skilled manual work role that involves electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lock, basic carpentry, and other general maintenance work related to the Georgia Center. Duties include scheduled tasks and work received via oral or written instructions, with responsibility for determining work methods and ensuring completed work meets inspection standards.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair facilities electrical, plumbing, HVAC, paint, door hardware, and key codes.
- Inspect and evaluate building utilities and equipment to determine repairs and maintenance.
- Document all work orders in Visual One software.
- Coordinate with OUA, FMD, and GC Facilities Management for repairs beyond internal capabilities.
- Notify Facilities Management of repairs, maintenance status, supply needs, and stock maintenance.
- Relocate furniture and equipment as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years related experience.
- Experience maintaining a large facility and working on multiple construction or maintenance projects.
- Knowledge of building maintenance processes, environmental/safety regulations, and compliance.
- Ability to read architectural drawings, estimate costs, schedule work, and perform general maintenance tasks.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using Visual One software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with facilities staff and contractors.
- Ability to make decisions regarding repairs and emergency procedures.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, stoop, bend, squat, crawl, work with hands overhead, kneel, and climb stairs frequently.
- Work in confined spaces, ceilings, roofs, ladders, or scaffolding.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good manual dexterity.
