Job DescriptionThe Field Service Technician / Technical Support Specialist provides technical support, product installation, and service to customers both remotely and on‑site. The role is critical in ensuring customer satisfaction through effective troubleshooting, timely service coordination, and continuous improvement of products and processes.
Responsibilities- Provide technical troubleshooting support to customers via phone and email
- Perform product installations and service at customer locations
- Install and test CFE hardware for the SCO product line
- Conduct site evaluations to assess installation requirements and service needs
- Assist with trade show installations and de‑installations
- Enter and process service parts orders
- Dispatch service and/or installation technicians as needed
- Create and issue service data reports
- Initiate internal corrective actions and document change requests
- Manage projects related to installations, service, and customer support
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); trade or vocational school preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical components, properties, and testing devices
- Ability to be on‑call after hours for customer support
- Ability to travel independently and frequently to customer locations
- Must be able to travel with minimal notice
- 1–3 years of experience in a related field (preferred)
- Experience using hand and power tools for metal and woodworking
- Experience in field service, equipment installation, or technical support environments
- Familiarity with retail systems or self‑checkout (SCO) technology
- Basic computer and reporting skills
- Frequent travel required
- Ability to lift and handle equipment as needed
- Work in various customer site environments, including retail and industrial settings
