Part‑Time Crisis Intervention Specialist (Residential)

The Ion Center For Violence Prevention is a non‑profit agency serving 13 Kentucky counties. We provide free and confidential services to victim‑survivors impacted by power‑based personal violence.

We are looking for compassionate individuals to support and serve victim‑survivors residing in our Buffalo Trace shelter. Part‑time Residential Crisis Intervention Specialists play a key role by answering hotline calls, maintaining facility cleanliness, connecting with and supporting victim‑survivors, and addressing other needs during the overnight shift.

• Answer hotline calls, texts, and chat.
• Maintain client confidentiality.
• Assess and identify client needs and provide community resources.
• Assist clients with completing agency paperwork and developing safety plans.
• Provide trauma‑informed individual, family, or group counseling.
• Educate survivors on partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking.
• Identify client goals related to benefits, childcare, education, budget, and housing.
• Transport clients to meet goals.
• Provide support while clients navigate the legal system; accompany to court and assist with protection orders.
• Support hotline and emergency shelter services.
• Collaborate with community partners, law enforcement, medical staff, and social service agencies.
• Assist clients with crime‑victim compensation.
• Maintain client files and documentation.
• Attend meetings and trainings.
• Report statistics for funders.
• Accept and disseminate donations.
• Contribute to a clean, healthy, and trauma‑informed work environment.
• Collaborate as a team across agency sites.

• High school diploma or equivalent and one to two years related experience, or a degree from an accredited college/university.
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care.
• Ability to work under highly stressful, crisis‑oriented situations.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Outstanding empathetic and listening skills.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate on a team.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Completion of trainings for funding requirements and knowledge building.
• Minimum age 18.
• Hourly rate $19.00/hour; anticipated 10–25 hours per week.

• Speaking, seeing, hearing, standing, writing, walking, including climbing steps, carrying, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling.
• Using office equipment (keyboard, monitor, camera, copier, fax, phones).
• Exposure to infectious diseases and stressful situations.

Part‑time; at least one shift per week, not to exceed 30 hours. Typical shifts Monday–Friday 5 pm–11 pm and Saturday–Sunday (first, second, and/or third shift).
