Description

As part of its reorganization effective August 1, 2026, the Office of Statewide Programs will have an opening for a Program Project Coordinator. This position may be assigned to a workstation in any Kentucky county EXCEPT the following:
Crittenden, Hickman, Lewis, Mason, Morgan, Rockcastle, or Trimble.

The Program Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the operation of Kentucky's Citizen Foster Care Review Board Program. The role works collaboratively with CFCRB volunteers, courts, child welfare agencies, and community partners to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements related to the review of cases involving children in out‑of‑home care. Responsibilities include coordinating board activities, recruiting and training volunteers, monitoring program performance, maintaining records and reports, maintaining and ensuring accurate data for assigned boards, providing technical assistance, and supporting efforts to improve outcomes for children and families involved in the child welfare system.

The Program Coordinator serves as a liaison among stakeholders and promotes the effective and consistent operation of the CFCRB Program statewide.

This is a federally funded time‑limited (FFTL) position whose duration does not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position.

Examples of Duties or Responsibilities Of This Classification
  • Monitor board performance and program effectiveness and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Review, maintain, and manage program records, reports, and documentation.
  • Compile and analyze program data and prepare required reports, summaries, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate and facilitate volunteer training and continuing education opportunities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Promote community awareness and engagement regarding the Citizen Foster Care Review Board Program.
  • Travel as necessary to support local boards, attend meetings, conduct trainings, and participate in statewide initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive case information and comply with all applicable privacy requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree in a job‑related field such as human services, criminal justice, psychology, human resources, sociology, or a related field.
  • Experience, Training, or

    Skills:

    None required, but one (1) year of job‑related experience that includes working with youth and families, human services, criminal justice and/or the juvenile justice system may substitute for an associate’s degree. A high school diploma with four (4) years of job‑related experience may also substitute for an associate degree. An associate’s degree with two (2) additional years of work experience may substitute for a high school diploma.
  • Special Requirements: Must have and maintain a valid Kentucky driver’s license.
Working Conditions

Occasional in‑state travel required. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Due to the nature of the duties, this position is not authorized for virtual work.
