About Life Works for Autism
- Life Works for Autism is a nonprofit organization that supports autistic adults as they build independent, meaningful lives through housing, daily living skill development, vocational preparation, and person-centered coaching.
- Promote the value, opportunity, and outcomes of the program to qualified participants and families
- Support participants and their families before, during, and through transition of the program
- This position supports participants and families from the first inquiry and then through admissions, enrollment, active programming, transition planning, program exit, and follow-up after completion.
- This role is responsible for knowing how participants are doing, tracking progress toward goals, communicating clearly with families, helping address concerns early, and making sure each participant has a thoughtful plan for growth and transition. This position helps Life Works stay organized, responsive, and person-centered by combining direct participant support, family communication, data tracking, admissions support, and program auditing.
- Admissions & Enrollment
- Support interested families and participants through the inquiry, application, interview, and enrollment process.
- Help determine whether the program is an appropriate fit for each applicant.
- Coordinate application materials, admissions communication, enrollment paperwork, and onboarding steps.
- Support new participants and families as they transition into the program.
- Maintain clear admissions and enrollment records.
- Serve as a primary support contact for participants throughout their time in the program.
- Work directly with participants to further their goals, skills, and confidence.
- Monitor participant progress, goals, needs, concerns, and transition plans.
- Help identify concerns early and coordinate appropriate next steps with staff, participants, and families.
- Maintain participant portfolios, support plans, progress notes, and transition documentation.
- Support participants as they prepare to exit the program and move into their next stage of independence, employment, education, or community living.
- Serve as a consistent communication point for families.
- Provide updates on participant progress, goals, concerns, transition planning, and overall program experience.
- Schedule and participate in family meetings, progress reviews, and transition conversations.
- Respond to family concerns in a timely, professional, and solution-focused manner.
- Help families understand program expectations, participant progress, and next steps.
- Facilitate regular Family Education sessions focused on giving families skills and confidence.
- Organize, review, and communicate participant progress across all core program areas.
- Keep participant records accurate, current, and organized.
- Use data to help identify participant needs, program trends, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare basic reports and summaries for leadership, families, and program review.
- Help demonstrate participant growth and program effectiveness through clear documentation.
- Review participant files, documentation, progress tracking, and program records for completeness and accuracy.
- Help ensure that support plans, family communication, data entry, and transition plans are being maintained consistently.
- Identify gaps, concerns, or follow-up needs before they become larger issues.
- Support regular internal reviews of participant services, admissions, enrollment, documentation, and family communication.
- Communicate audit findings and recommended improvements to leadership.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, psychology, social work, human services, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred.

- 3-5 years of experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent populations preferred.
- Experience with case management, transition planning, family communication, or admissions.
- Understanding of autism, adult learning, independent living, and employment readiness.
- Ability to build trust with participants and families.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable balancing relational support with clear documentation and accountability.
- Strong communication skills with both participants and families.
- Ability to stay organized, track details, and follow through consistently.
- Comfortable using data, documentation, and basic reporting tools.
- Professional, calm, and solution-focused when responding to concerns.
- Strong belief in independence, dignity, self-determination, and least-to-most support.
