As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan
Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Markets & Post Trade Technology, youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Manage priorities and set expectations when faced with multiple demanding tasks. Clearly articulates and communicates project status to stakeholders and management.
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expert-level proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, MQ, Apache Kafka, REST Api, gRPC, Oracle, Postgres
SQL, SQL - Proficiency in observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Grafana.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Lambda, Docker, and Helm.
- Experience in Test Driven Development with unit testing, acceptance testing using JUnit, Cucumber, Fitnesse
- Strong grasp of application resiliency, scalability and security principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment on a Scrum team.
- Initiative and creativity in refining testing processes and improving quality.
- Experience working with AI automation frameworks and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into software solutions, including prompt engineering, model evaluation, and deployment.
- Familiarity with LLM platforms and tools (such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, or similar).
- Strong ability to manage own workload and deliver to required deadlines.
