Warehouse Associate III

Position Summary: Nationwide Uniform (by Fechheimer) is hiring a Warehouse Associate III to perform advanced logistics and inventory tasks, multi-equipment operation, complex order handling, and error/root-cause resolution. This role emphasizes technical proficiency and accuracy at scale—without leadership, team lead, or supervisory duties.

Regular business hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or as needed to meet business goals and objectives.

Primary responsibilities:

In this role you will be required to…

  • Perform all Warehouse Associate I & II duties with expert-level accuracy, speed, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Operate multiple PIT types (e.g., stand-up reach, order picker, sit-down forklift) and perform daily inspections, battery/charging care, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Execute advanced cycle counting and inventory reconciliation; analyze pick/put-away errors and perform corrective WMS transactions per authorization.
  • Resolve wave/release exceptions, short picks, backorders, and substitutions within system rules and customer requirements.
  • Optimize packing and cartonization (right-size packaging, void fill standards, DIM weight awareness) to reduce damage and freight cost.
  • Process returns including inspection, triage, disposition (restock/repack/rework/scrap) and documentation.
  • Perform value-added services (e.g., re-labeling, size verification audits, set reconfiguration) in accordance with customer specs and quality standards.
  • Maintain personal productivity/quality metrics (e.g., lines/hour, UPH, error rate) and participate in problem-solving for recurring defects (no people leadership).
  • Support safety by identifying hazards, completing near-miss reports, and ensuring equipment and aisle standards are met.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with CSR/Planning/Receiving to resolve order/inventory issues while escalating policy decisions to supervisors as required.

Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency with WMS/ERP transactions (adjustments, transfers, cycle count reconciliation, ASN/receiving).
  • Expert operation of multiple PIT types; knowledge of load characteristics, stacking, and aisle width limitations
  • Strong analytical skills for discrepancy/root-cause analysis and documentation
  • In-depth understanding of apparel SKU structures, size scales, and configuration rules
  • Working knowledge of lean/5S principles and damage-prevention best practices
  • Ability to read freight documents (BOL, packing list) and follow carrier/service-level requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of warehouse/distribution experience (apparel or consumer goods preferred).
  • Valid PIT certification required; experience across multiple equipment types.
  • Demonstrated expertise with RF scanning and WMS/ERP transactions.

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of 25–50 lbs.
  • Use of ladders:
Occasional climbing of ladders up to 8 steps (~6.5 feet high) required for picking or stocking inventory
  • Positional:
    Frequent standing and walking.
  • Gross Mobility:
Climbing, frequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Sensory:
Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation.
