Job Description
The Project Field Engineer is a key member of the project operations team that provides critical support to Project Management and acts as the liaison between the Field and the Office. Responsibilities include preparing submittal packages, processing cable test reports, drafting and processing RFIs, preparing change order requests, verifying field conditions against design documents, maintaining drawings, and ensuring effective communication of project updates.

Mon–Fri 7:00 am–4:00 pm (after hours and weekends if needed) - Location:
Onsite daily at a client site in Bowling Green, OH - Travel expectations – up to 15%
- Follow the company’s safety program and client worksite policies to keep the team safe.
- Promote company core values to foster culture.
- Participate in RFP processes, reviewing plans, specifications, and bid packages.
- Provide close support to the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager.
- Suggest process improvements to meet customer requirements.
- Manage, mentor, and develop colleagues.
- Validate expectations with the customer before, during, and after project completion.
- Support subcontractors and oversee field validation of telecom design, identifying conflicts or gaps.
- Manage project review process with emphasis on constructability, value engineering, and design discrepancies.
- Oversee electronic tracking systems and dashboards for real‑time task progress and issue resolution.
- Provide daily/weekly reporting, issue escalation, and coordination with project managers and general contractors.
- Communicate challenges, risks, and successes proactively.
- Coordinate with Project Superintendent(s) to assess installation methods and manpower forecasts.
- Support QA/QC by ensuring adherence to quality control plans and processes.
- Ensure downstream team members meet task deadlines.
- Review contracts, work orders, and purchase orders to align scope with estimates and contract documents.
- Maintain customer relationships.
- Coordinate material and equipment availability with the field operations team.
- Coordinate acceptance and sign‑off with the customer.
- Own the change management process, identify scope impacts, communicate with stakeholders, and drive resolution.
- Partner with QA/QC teams to review and validate test results (OTDR, Power Meter, etc.).
- Maintain up‑to‑date redlines throughout the build lifecycle.
- Lead the preparation of closeout documentation, ensuring timely and customer‑ready submittals.
- Proficient in leveraging information and data for informed decisions.
- Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Deep understanding of estimating and engineering best practices.
- Ability to identify and manage change events.
- Knowledge of construction technology platforms, quality, and safety standards.
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules.
- Professionalism and effective interaction across all employee levels and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under time constraints and adapt positively.
- Strong oral, written, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Disciplined, detail‑oriented, organized, and self‑driven.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Strong leadership presence with mentoring and representation in cross‑functional meetings.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence without authority.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, Textura, and related applications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 5+ years in construction, preferably large, structured cabling or data center projects.
- Preferred professional certifications: OSHA‑30 Hour (must be obtained within six months of hire if not already certified) and BICSI TECH.
This position will not have direct reports.
