Operations Manager
Primary Purpose
Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role involves managing field operations, coordinating with project teams, supervising superintendents and field staff, and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities- Lead and oversee all field activities for multiple mechanical construction projects.
- Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines and goals.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and site inspections.
- Supervise and mentor superintendents, foremen, and field crews to ensure effective workforce management.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve field-related issues.
- Review and interpret project blueprints, specifications, and contracts to ensure work is performed correctly.
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and material usage to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies on field-related matters.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry codes, regulations, and company standards.
- Provide leadership in problem‑solving, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Senior Superintendent will play a key leadership role in driving project success and ensuring operational excellence.
Management ResponsibilitySupervisor – responsible for hiring, performance management and pay administration for subordinates. List supervised positions:
Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent or leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the industry.
- Experience with project scheduling software and construction management tools.
- Excellent communications, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction models and specifications.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
- The range for this position has been established at $68.31 – $96.48 per hour, and compensation offered to the finalist will be set based on a variety of factors including internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
