Position
Description:
Coordinate, schedule and perform electrical and mechanical testing to validate products and components per applicable standards. Function as primary agency contact and administrator of agency standards library. Maintain test lab equipment, fixtures and supplies for testing products and components at an agency acceptable level. Work in conjunction with Engineering and Quality representatives to ensure products are evaluated to appropriate levels of performance and functionality.
Principleduties / Responsibilities
- Review test requests to ensure compliance with agency requirements and internal test plans; provide feedback to engineers.
- Prepare test samples and perform electrical and mechanical testing per documented procedures.
- Analyze and document test results in clear technical reports; maintain historical test databases.
- Stay current on all applicable product standards and notify engineering of changes.
- Support development and validation of new products, including preparing test plans and agency submittals.
- Coordinate with external agencies to optimize testing costs.
- Review and update agency files; support quarterly agency audits.
- Maintain the test lab, equipment, calibration schedules, and inventory; develop new test methods and procure necessary equipment.
- Conduct performance testing of incoming materials.
- Manage the UL Data Acceptance Program (DAP), including quality system documentation and audit readiness.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- Cumulative experience including:
- 1 year in basic electricity, power distribution, and wire preparation
- 2 years in a test lab performing electrical and mechanical testing
- 2 years working in a manufacturing environment
- 1 year working with agency standards
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including basic office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to prepare test samples and set up tests on lab equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
