Overview
Transportation Engineer 1 (TE1) or Transportation Engineer 2 (TE2), PN . The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. Transportation Engineer 1 or Transportation Engineer 2 hire will complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program to include a 12-month training plan and scheduled rotation through the department’s core engineering disciplines:
Planning & Engineering, Construction and Highway Maintenance.

Qualifications- Transportation Engineer 1:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering;
Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors. - Transportation Engineer 2:
Valid Engineer-In-Training certificate issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 months' experience as Transportation Engineer 1, 85641. Or Bachelor’s degree in engineering with valid EIT or equivalent; 2 years engineering-related experience. - Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
