As a Health, Safety, Environmental & Security Specialist you will be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You will collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions that advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.
In this role, you will:- Provide leadership, counsel, and technical assistance to the site to achieve HSES goals.
- Prepare updates to site safety policies and programs.
- Manage the site’s hazardous waste program.
- Develop and conduct safety training as needed.
- Maintain recordkeeping as required by regulations and company policy.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external audits and inspections.
- Perform duties related to site RC14001 Responsible Care Management System (RCMS).
- Assist with corrective actions from internal/external audits, inspections, and visits.
- Lead/participate in safety incident (i.e., near miss, injury, etc.) investigations and root cause analyses.
- Work with site personnel to improve process safety elements (e.g., management of change).
- Conduct/assist with hazard assessment activities (i.e., issuing permits, process safety reviews, etc.).
- Prepare regulatory permits and reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an HSES related field, science, or engineering. Extensive years (5 years) of experience in a HSES related role may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 1+ years of health, safety and/or environmental experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in a chemical plant or heavy industry plant preferred.
