Bio Fit is currently seeking a Controller at its Bowling Green, Ohio facility.

Position Overview

The Controller is the senior financial leader at Bio Fit and is responsible for bringing sound judgment, financial discipline, and administrative leadership to the company. This role exists to help ensure Bio Fit makes prudent financial decisions, maintains accurate and timely financial information, and has the financial and administrative support structure necessary to operate effectively.

The Controller is responsible for the leadership of Accounting and provides oversight and direction to Human Resources and IT. This role owns the integrity of the financial statements, budgeting and forecasting support, cash visibility, standard costing, and financial analysis used to support business decisions. The Controller also serves as a key financial partner to the President and management team and is expected to work closely with the Director of Operations on standard costs, variances, and financial implications of operational decisions.

In addition, the Controller serves as the business process owners for the ERP system, helping ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, process discipline, and continued system improvement across financial workflows.

Primary Responsibilities Financial Reporting and Close
  • Own and direct the monthly and annual close process to ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and well understood.
  • Prepare and/or direct the annual financial reporting for management and ownership.
  • Review general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accruals, and unusual transactions to ensure financial accuracy and proper treatment.
  • Ensure significant variances, unusual balances, and non-routine activity are researched, explained, and documented.
Cost Accounting and Operational Financial Partnership
  • Maintain and improve standard costing, overhead standards, and related cost accounting processes.
  • Review labor, material, and manufacturing variances and help ensure confidence in margin reporting and financial data.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations and production leadership on standard rates, cost drivers, and the financial implications of operational performance.
  • Support price increase analysis, profitability reviews, capital project analysis, and other business decisions requiring financial evaluation.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Spend Control
  • Lead the annual budgeting process with input from the President and other managers.
  • Support ongoing forecasting and provide financial analysis to help management understand current performance and outlook.
  • Monitor budget-to-actual results and work directly with managers when spending is over budget or business conditions require revised plans.
  • Help the company exercise sound financial discipline by distinguishing between necessary business needs and discretionary spending.
Cash, Banking, and Financial Administration
  • Maintain visibility to the company’s cash position and short-term financial needs.
  • Escalate cash concerns promptly and recommend prudent actions when cash is tight.
  • Serve as the primary banking relationship contact and coordinate day-to-day banking activity as needed.
  • Provide leadership in assigned administrative areas, including property insurance and co‑leadership of benefits administration with Human Resources.
  • Lead and develop the accounting team to ensure strong execution, accuracy, follow‑through, and accountability.
  • Provide direction and oversight to Human Resources and IT in alignment with company priorities.
