We are seeking a driven and experienced Buyer/Planner ready to take on a dynamic role in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment. This position plays a critical part in executing purchase orders and managing strategic sourcing initiatives aimed at reducing costs, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting daily production and on-time delivery (OTD) goals. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules, proactively resolve supply and capacity constraints, and ensure consistent delivery performance.

The position is full time on site.

• Executes activities related to the management of purchase orders from intent to purchase through delivery of product, including reconciliation of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Expedites and defers goods and services as required, working directly with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery and updating the ERP system to reflect accurate delivery dates.
• Identifies and executes inventory optimization initiatives and ensures appropriate levels and accuracy of inventory planning, including safety stock, Kanban quantities, and order quantities.
• Creates and manages RFQ and RFP including scope of work, reviews bid proposals and quotes, and makes recommendations based on quoting analysis.
• Maintains required records such as quotes, price lists, blanket order files, supplier correspondence, and supplier performance data.
• Serves as a key problem‑solver for operations, resolving delivery challenges, demand‑versus‑supply conflicts, and order scheduling issues.
• Manages supplier relationship, establishing performance goals for continuity, cost, quality, and delivery.
• Works with the commodity manager to select suppliers using strategic sourcing, aiming for the best combination of cost, capability, quality, reliability, and delivery, and executes changes to the supply base with minimal disruption.
• Seeks cost‑reduction opportunities with the supplier base and reports on KPIs, action plans, and cost‑reduction results in a timely manner.
• Visits facilities to conduct supplier assessments focused on business practices, quality operations, and continuous improvement opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering).
• 2‑3 years minimum of relevant purchasing or supply‑chain experience, preferably within discrete manufacturing.
• Experience with lean manufacturing tools preferred.
• Previous experience and working knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
