The Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Bowling Green is currently seeking a full time Park Maintenance Specialist
. This is a year-round position and includes access to all City benefits!
Summary: This full time, hourly, non-union position: prepares facilities for rentals; operates equipment; maintains grounds; prepares athletic fields; checks mechanical pool operations; prepares for special events; oversees temporary staff (Park Laborers’) work quality and reports issues to immediate supervisor; performs other related duties as assigned. Successful candidate must be able to stand, talk, hear, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and lift up to 50 pounds.
Work is typically performed outdoors regardless of the weather; employee has significant contact with City citizens and the general public. Hours may be irregular, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Requires: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum six (6) months’ relevant experience; valid Ohio Driver’s License; or any combination of education, training and work experience which provides the required skill set to perform the essential functions of the job. Within one (1) year of appointment, must obtain First Aid/CPR, Certified Pool Operator and Pesticide Applicator license.
