Ford Mobile Service Technician

Thayer Ford is launching our Ford Mobile Service Program and we are looking for the right technician to help build it from the ground up.

This is not a typical technician position. Our Mobile Service Technician operates a fully equipped Ford service vehicle and performs maintenance and light repairs at customer homes, businesses, and job sites throughout the region.

The right candidate will have strong technical skills, but also the professionalism and communication ability to represent the dealership in the field.

You will essentially run your own mobile service lane.

• Perform mobile maintenance and light repair services including:

  • Oil changes

  • Brake service

  • Battery replacement

  • Tire rotations

  • Recalls and software updates

  • Basic diagnostics and repairs

• Travel to customer homes and businesses within the service area

• Communicate directly with customers regarding vehicle needs and recommendations

• Write and manage your own repair orders using dealership systems

• Process payments and close out service tickets

• Maintain inventory and organization of the mobile service vehicle

• Help grow and promote the Ford Mobile Service program

• Previous dealership technician experience preferred

• Ford certification is a plus

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills

• Ability to work independently and manage daily routes

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Professional appearance and attitude

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• Comfortable using tablets and dealership software for repair orders and payments

• Work independently in the field
