Job Summary
Trane Technologies seeks a skilled HVAC Service Technician to serve as the primary contact for customers in a defined market. The role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in commercial settings.
Work LocationField-based. Service work is conducted on-site at customer locations, including healthcare facilities, process manufacturing plants, educational institutions, and office complexes.
Responsibilities- Perform end‑to‑end testing, programming, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
- Diagnose, examine, and repair equipment and systems to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, and customers to clarify installation and repair requirements.
- Use software, technology, and hand tools following blueprints or engineering specifications.
- Maintain safety standards and document asset usage, wear, and conditions.
- Mentor team members and demonstrate teamwork and dedication to the customer.
- Work overtime, weekly, and occasional overnight stays as business demands require.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or completion of an accredited technical school.
- Minimum 10 years of HVAC experience.
- Preferred technical school or formal HVAC training.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and handheld computing devices (smartphone, iPad).
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with a clean driving record, no DUI, hit & run, license suspension, reckless driving or significant infractions in the past 3 years.
- EPA certification preferred (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer).
Hourly base pay: $40.00. No incentive or sales commission. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) with a company match up to 8%, paid time off (15 vacation days, 9 holidays, 3 floating holidays, sick leave), tuition assistance, and employee wellness programs. Benefits begin on day one and may vary by region or collective bargaining agreement.
