About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician, also commonly searched as Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Electromechanical Technician, and Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial production equipment and facility systems. This hands‑on role supports heat treating furnaces, vacuum washers, conveyor systems, blasting equipment, robotics, and related manufacturing machinery. The position works primarily from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with some scheduling flexibility, overtime as needed, and occasional travel to customer locations for equipment installation and field maintenance support.
Responsibilities:- Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery, production equipment, and facility systems to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and equipment‑control issues involving industrial furnaces, vacuum washers, conveyor systems, blasting equipment, robotics, and other automated manufacturing machinery.
- Partner with production and operations teams to respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs that minimize production downtime.
- Complete scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities, inspections, adjustments, component replacements, and equipment servicing in accordance with established maintenance procedures and safety standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Perform metal fabrication, welding, pipe fitting, mechanical assembly, equipment alignment, and related industrial maintenance work as required.
- Support field engineering activities, including equipment installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance at customer locations approximately once per month, with trips typically ranging from one day to one week.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance optimization, workplace safety, and manufacturing process efficiency.
- Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, safe work practices, and applicable industrial safety procedures while maintaining a safety‑first approach during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain flexibility to support overtime, weekend work, emergency repairs, and changing production requirements when necessary.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance, machine maintenance, or maintenance mechanic experience working with machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills with practical knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot from electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Hands‑on experience diagnosing equipment failures and completing mechanical and electrical repairs in a fast‑paced industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel periodically to customer locations for field service, equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting assignments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet job‑related travel requirements.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as operational requirements dictate.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of industrial maintenance work, including prolonged standing, bending, stretching, repetitive motion, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with assistance when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting experience with industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, sensors, wiring, and electromechanical equipment.
- Experience with industrial heat treating furnaces, temperature controls, automated equipment, robotics, conveyor systems, vacuum equipment, or similar manufacturing technologies.
- Welding, metal fabrication, and pipe fitting experience in an industrial maintenance or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with temperature control functionality, programming, installation, calibration, or troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and manufacturing best practices.
