Description
The role involves supporting the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of plant electrical and automated control systems. Responsibilities include assisting with PLC/HMI programming, instrumentation, electrical equipment, technical documentation, and controls-related projects under senior guidance.
RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with electrical panel layouts, wiring changes, and equipment modifications.
- Help in selecting, installing, and replacing electrical, PLC, HMI, and instrumentation components.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Participate in meetings involving electrical hardware, controls, or programming.
- Make routine PLC and HMI programming changes with guidance.
- Work with operators to identify and solve controls-related issues.
- Follow electrical safety requirements and report concerns.
- Maintain records affecting Arc Flash Hazard Analysis documentation.
- Support maintenance projects involving instrumentation, electrical equipment, and controls systems.
- Troubleshoot issues with electrical equipment, instrumentation, and controls hardware.
- Maintain organized documentation and backups of controls files.
- Assist with PLC-to-database troubleshooting and modifications.
- Monitor network and hardware health, addressing issues as needed.
Preferred:
Associate degree or technical certificate in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Hands-on experience in electrical maintenance or industrial controls preferred.
- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and documentation.
- Familiarity with industrial instrumentation and control devices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Understanding of safe electrical work practices.
- Basic understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
