Adjunct Faculty – Accounting, Finance, Business Law

We are excited to invite adjunct applications for upcoming semesters. Adjunct faculty positions at Kean University are filled on an as‑needed basis. Qualified candidates may be contacted if, and when, there is an available opening or possible future opening.

• Teach accounting, finance, or business law courses in‑person at Union campus, Kean Ocean Campus, Kean Skylands, Jersey City, or select courses at Union County College’s University Center in Scotch Plains.
• Provide at least one (1) hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each 3 or 4 credit class taught; additional 30 minutes per extra class.
• Provide at least 30 minutes of availability outside the classroom per week for each 1–2 credit class taught.
• May offer additional office hours beyond the required minimum.

• Master’s degree in a related field (or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate).
• Teaching experience in the subject area (unless otherwise indicated).
• Proficiency in a Learning Management System.

Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.

Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.

Beginning in the 13th semester taught, adjuncts receive an additional $75 per credit.

Adjuncts are enrolled in a state‑administered retirement plan (when eligible) and may enroll in the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription drug coverage.

Please submit a cover letter indicating availability (days, evenings or weekends) and preferred campus location, resume, and contact information for three professional references. Official transcripts are required before appointment.

Employment may require working at any of Kean’s New Jersey campus locations or affiliated work sites, including the main campus in Union, Kean Ocean in Toms River, Kean Skylands in Jefferson Township, Kean Jersey City, Kean at Brookdale in Middletown Township, Manahawkin, Princeton, and Trenton. Faculty may also be assigned to teach online classes for Kean Global.
