Adjunct Faculty – Marketing, Global Business, Economics

Kean University is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach a wide range of marketing, global business, and economics courses at Union, Kean Ocean, and Jersey City campuses. All positions are non‑tenure track and are filled on an as‑needed basis.

• Teach one, three, or four credit classes in the following areas:
  • Marketing:
    Principles of Marketing, International Marketing, Marketing Research, Professional Selling, Social Media Marketing, Sports Marketing, Internet Marketing, New Product Development, Digital Marketing Strategies, and Services Marketing.
  • Global Business:
    Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Sustainability Global Business and Technology, Global Business Research Analysis, and Managing Global Operations.
  • Economics: various economics courses available in‑person on the Union campus.
• Provide at least one hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each three or four credit class, and an additional 30 minutes for each additional class taught.
• Offer at least 30 minutes of availability per week for teaching courses of fewer than three credits.
• Schedule office hours in person or virtually as appropriate to student needs.
• Maintain proficiency with the University's Learning Management System.

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Teaching experience required unless otherwise indicated.
• Candidates holding an ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other disciplinary doctorate are encouraged to apply.

• Pay: $2,100 per credit (effective September 2025) and $2,225 per credit (effective September 2026). Beginning in the 13th semester taught, adjuncts receive an additional $75 per credit.
• Enrollment in the state-administered retirement plan (when eligible).
• Eligibility for the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program, which covers medical and prescription drug coverage.
• Office hours may be scheduled at the adjunct’s discretion in addition to the minimum requirements.

Faculty may also be assigned to teach online classes for Kean Global.
