Position Overview
Adjunct Professor – Early Childhood Education, University – to teach undergraduate courses in person at the Union campus. Course areas include Child Development, Content Areas in the Early Childhood Curriculum, Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP), Assessment, Family-Teacher Partnerships and Professionalism. Clinical experience may include school visits.
Responsibilities- Teach 1–4 credit hours of undergraduate ECE courses per semester.
- Provide required office hours: at least 1 hour per week for a 3- or 4-credit class; 30 minutes per week for a 1- or 2-credit class; additional hours optional.
- Maintain accurate course records and complete required administrative tasks.
- Master’s degree in a related field; ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or relevant doctorate acceptable.
- Teaching experience in Early Childhood Education or related discipline.
- Knowledge of NAEYC Professional Standards and New Jersey state standards.
- Proficiency in a Learning Management System as per university guidelines.
- Courses taught in person at Union campus; morning and evening availability preferred.
- Potential for clinical component with school visits.
Paid per credit: $2,100 per credit effective September 2025; $2,225 per credit effective September 2026. Alumni receive an additional $75 per credit after 13th semester.
Adjuncts enrolled in state-administered retirement plan and may enroll in Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.

Employment Requirements- Must work at any New Jersey campus or affiliated site (Union, Ocean, Skylands, Jersey City, Brookdale, etc.) or teach online for the Global program.
- Will be required to comply with New Jersey First Act and establish residence in New Jersey within 365 days of hire.
