Job Summary

Adjunct Faculty – First Year Seminar. Teach a Freshmen Seminar course that develops critical reading and thinking skills at the Union or Jersey City campus. Each section is based on a theme selected by the instructor and builds community through the class experience, reinforcing interdisciplinary inquiry.

Deliver course content, facilitate class discussions, assign and grade readings, and provide student support.

Maintain at least one hour of availability outside the classroom per week for each semester (or 30 minutes if fewer than three credits). Provide additional office hours at the discretion of the instructor.

Schedule availability to meet student needs (in person or virtual).

Master’s degree in a related field (or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctorate). Teaching experience is preferred.

Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required.

Availability to teach twice a week for 1 hour 15 minutes per session, for a semester.

Paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

• Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
• Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
• From the 13th semester taught: an additional $75 per credit.

Eligible for the state‑administered retirement plan (when eligible) and the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program for medical and prescription drug coverage (when eligible).
