Reports To:

Manufacturing Supervisor

Salary Range: $21-$28/hr.

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to assist in packaging manufactured metered dose inhalation (MDI) products in a pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Multifunctional Role

This job primarily serves as a Manufacturing Operator. It also supports other operational functions such as Warehouse Operations, Packaging Operations, and Facilities Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Dispensing raw material and primary packing materials as per work order and planning batches.
  • Monitoring cleaning and sanitation of production area and machinery between batches and product changeovers.
  • Daily monitoring and recording of production materials and lines; conducting process checks and recording in batch manufacturing records.
  • Controlling machine operations to minimize rejections and maximize outputs while maintaining quality standards: operate equipment, perform maintenance, coordinate with engineering for preventive maintenance and calibration.
  • Manufacturing and filling products as per Batch Manufacturing Records and SOP.
  • Maintaining inventory of machine parts, tools, and accessories.
  • Working individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Coordinating with packaging, engineering, QA, and QC for planning and execution.
  • Sampling as scheduled in coordination with QA and QC.
  • Checking status labels at all stages; ensuring line clearance during batch transitions.
  • Performing and ensuring calibration/verification of instruments, equipment, and weighing balances as scheduled.
  • Engaging in safe procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and execute tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain 100% cGMP and SOP compliance throughout operation hours.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Report all issues to the department head or manager.
  • Perform daily equipment maintenance and complete documentation promptly.
  • Maintain discipline in the department.
  • Assist in training other employees as needed.
  • Work extended hours when necessary to meet manufacturing schedules.
Training and Safety

All employees must undergo initial and periodic training activities. Operators may cross‑train in all manufacturing areas and must adhere to all safety, health, and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Accredited college certificate or university degree (preferred).
  • Minimum two years of manufacturing experience with MDI or aerosol products.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Knowledge of fundamental cGMP and regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and operation principles of control systems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including OSHA.
  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, bend frequently; apply force up to 5 lbs continuously, up to 25 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs rarely using a hand truck.
  • Ability to wear PPE, including respiratory devices such as Air Purifying Respirators, hooded powered air purifying respirators, or Supplied Air Respirators.
