Job Schedule:

PRN

• Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Apply knowledge of nursing principles, and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing age‑ and population‑specific standards related to physical and psychosocial needs as per the care plan.
• Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of resident status and provide required care.
• Ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents.
• Contribute to resident assessment and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, health‑care providers, and the public.
• Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocates, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician, on prevention and treatment plans.
• Develop self‑care programs based on resident education principles.

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program and be licensed as an LPN.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• Completion of a pre‑licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience across the lifespan, or a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility.
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse license with the state nursing board, and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges.
• Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training.
• If IV therapy/management skills are required in North Dakota, graduate from a Board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or complete an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.
