Commercial Construction Estimator

Pay: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
A growing commercial general contractor and facilities management company is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join its team. This role is ideal for someone with strong estimating experience in commercial construction projects ranging from renovations to multi-million-dollar builds.
The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing construction documents, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and supporting successful bid submissions. Projects typically range from $50K to $6M across commercial, industrial, and retail sectors.
Responsibilities:
Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and addenda to prepare complete project estimates
Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
Develop competitive bid proposals and bid packages
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction
Maintain historical pricing databases and track current market trends
Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
Assist with post-bid negotiations and scope reviews
Support internal budgeting and forecasting efforts
Ensure estimates are accurate, detailed, and aligned with project goals
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator within a commercial general contracting environment
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials
Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Autodesk Build, Pro Est, Sage Estimating, or similar
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and architectural drawings
Skilled in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid strategy
Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative and proactive mindset
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
Valid driver’s license required
