Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support public sector and federal construction projects from concept through award. This role is critical to developing accurate, compliant, and competitive cost proposals in accordance with government procurement requirements.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for public sector and federal projects (GMP, lump sum, design-build)
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFP/RFQ requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing using historical data and market analysis
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS, Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage)
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, and design teams to align scope and pricing
• Develop bid schedules, clarifications, and value-engineering options
• Support proposal narratives, cost breakdowns, and post-bid negotiations

• 3+ years of estimating experience with a GC; public sector/federal experience required
• Strong knowledge of government contracting processes and compliance
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., OST, Sage, Procore, Bluebeam)
• Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
