Fitness Attendant

Overview

Fitness Attendant – Part Time Year Round. Boynton Beach, FL, US. This role focuses on managing the reception area of the fitness center, greeting members, handling inquiries, scheduling, check-in/check-out, processing payments, and maintaining a clean facility.

• Greet all members and guests with enthusiasm and warmth, providing excellent customer service.
• Answer phones promptly and professionally, assisting with inquiries about services, programs, and class schedules.
• Schedule fitness appointments, personal training sessions, and classes using the computer system.
• Check members in and out of the fitness system (North Star or equivalent), ensuring accurate records and billing.
• Process payments for services and memberships, ensuring proper point-of-sale handling.
• Handle member concerns and requests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked reception area and fitness center environment.
• Work collaboratively with the fitness team and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Enforce fitness center policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment.
• Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or maintenance concerns to management.
• Routinely clean and sanitize the fitness equipment, exercise areas, studios, and high-touch surfaces.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of group fitness classes, wellness programs, and special events as assigned.
• Restock towels, sanitizing supplies, water stations, and other amenities throughout the day.
• Attend required departmental meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management and adhere to safety, health, and sanitation protocols.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ front desk or customer service experience, preferably in a fitness center, private club, hotel, or resort setting.

Not required

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of fitness management software (e.g., North Star) is a plus.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently with attention to detail.
• Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and follow written, oral, and diagrammed instructions.

• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent reaching, bending, turning, and stooping.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Repetitive motion required including computer entry.
• Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

• All employees are required to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific grooming standards are available.
• Nails should be maintained in clean condition.
• Hair must be neat and tidy.
• Avoid strong scents to maintain a neutral environment.
