Finance Manager
The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the daily operations of its Finance Department and support the agency's financial planning, budgeting, accounting, procurement, and audit functions.
This position works closely with the Executive Director to ensure the CRA's financial operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant with governmental accounting standards.
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the CRA's financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll and benefits administration, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, bank reconciliations, and audit coordination. The position also assists with policy development, budget preparation, and financial planning while supporting special projects and organizational initiatives.
Key responsibilities include managing the daily operations of the Finance Department, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, processing payroll, benefits, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations, assisting with annual budget development and financial forecasting, coordinating the annual audit and working with external auditors, monitoring budget activity and preparing financial analyses and reports, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and contract administration requirements, preparing agenda items, financial reports, and special projects for leadership, recommending improvements to financial policies and operational procedures, and staying current on governmental accounting standards and public finance practices.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Public Administration, or a related field, three (3) years of experience in governmental accounting and budget administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and a valid Florida driver's license required.
Knowledge and skills include governmental accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, payroll, benefits administration, and accounts payable processes, financial analysis, reconciliations, and audit preparation, procurement and contract administration practices, strong organizational, supervisory, and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
