Senior ABL Underwriter

About The Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing specialty finance organization seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter with a strong background in Asset-Based Lending (ABL) and/or Factoring.

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned commercial lending professional who enjoys analyzing businesses, evaluating credit risk, and contributing to strategic lending decisions.

The ideal candidate will have experience outside of traditional real estate lending and understand collateral-based commercial financing.

• Partner with Business Development and Senior Underwriting teams to evaluate prospective financing opportunities
• Analyze financial statements, business performance, credit risk, and repayment capacity
• Review accounts receivable, accounts payable, collateral, and borrowing base information
• Prepare detailed credit review packages and recommendations for senior management
• Participate in due diligence discussions with prospective clients
• Perform or support collateral field examinations when required
• Evaluate account debtor credit quality and business background information
• Assist Portfolio Management teams with credit monitoring and risk mitigation activities

• 5+ years of experience in Commercial Underwriting, ABL, Factoring, or Specialty Finance
• Strong experience analyzing middle-market commercial businesses
• Ability to interpret financial statements and prepare credit recommendations
• Experience with accounts receivable lending, borrowing bases, and collateral analysis
• Strong understanding of commercial credit risk assessment
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred

• Asset-Based Lending (ABL) underwriting experience
• Factoring industry experience
• Commercial Field Exam / Collateral Exam experience
• Experience with in a non-bank lending environment

Please note:

This role is focused on ABL/Factoring and commercial lending experience. Candidates with only real estate underwriting, mortgage lending, consumer credit, or insurance underwriting backgrounds will not be a fit.
