Pay Rate: $39 per hour
Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The COTA will work closely with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team to provide quality, resident-centered therapy services that promote independence, safety, and improved quality of life.
Responsibilities- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve residents' functional abilities and independence.
- Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote recovery and maximize independence.
- Monitor resident progress and accurately document treatments, interventions, and responses in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Ensure resident safety during therapy sessions while following infection control, safety, and facility guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Provide encouragement and support to residents throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and engaging therapy environment.
- Current Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience preferred;
new graduates are encouraged to apply

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and members of the care team.
