As Human Resources Specialist
, you’ll play an essential role in enriching the lives of seniors, creating meaningful connections, and making a difference every single day.

Your Role:

As the Human Resources Specialist
, you will be responsible for supporting recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and day-to-day human resources operations. This role partners closely with community leadership to ensure a positive team member experience while maintaining compliance with employment regulations and company policies.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manage and support all phases of the recruitment process to attract and hire qualified candidates
  • Partner with department heads to understand staffing needs and recruitment priorities
  • Post open positions and monitor applicant flow
  • Develop interview screening questions and support department leaders with interview preparation
  • Communicate regularly with the Executive Director and department leaders on recruiting progress
  • Collaborate with regional Talent Acquisition partners on higher-level searches as needed
  • Conduct reference checks and initiate required background screenings
  • Coordinate electronic onboarding and ensure timely completion of new hire documentation
  • Conduct new hire orientations and support smooth onboarding transitions
  • Assign and monitor required training through the online learning portal
  • Track compliance items including, but not limited to, PPD testing, license renewals, I-9s, and background checks
  • Ensure accurate and timely setup of team members in the HRIS and payroll systems
  • Respond to team member questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide guidance on human resources policies and ensure consistent application
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to employment matters
  • Support performance management processes in collaboration with leadership and Regional HR
  • Assist with team member appreciation efforts and engagement initiatives
  • Run and review monthly team member reports and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Support payroll preparation by reviewing timekeeping and submitting required reports
  • Monitor and report team member anniversaries and review timelines
  • Document and submit workers’ compensation claims and track injury status
  • Conduct exit interviews and prepare summary reports for leadership
  • Respond to unemployment claims and submit required documentation
  • Contribute to weekly reporting and administrative HR projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • One to three years of related human resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations
  • Strong judgment, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to type accurately at 45–50 words per minute
  • Ability to work primarily indoors in a climate-controlled environment
