Infection Preventionist​/Development

Facility: Heartland Nursing & Rehabilitation
Position: Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Nurse
Location: Palm Beach County, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour

Heartland Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to lead our Infection Prevention and Staff Development programs. This key leadership role ensures the highest standards of infection control, staff education, and regulatory compliance within our skilled nursing facility.

• Oversee new hire orientation, ongoing staff training, and competency validation

• Coordinate annual skills training and required in-service education programs

• Manage and monitor the Infection Prevention & Control Program

• Conduct infection control rounds and lead outbreak investigations

• Track, analyze, and report infection trends to leadership and committees

• Provide ongoing infection prevention education to staff

• Participate in QAPI (Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement) initiatives

• Monitor employee compliance with immunizations, TB testing, and respiratory protection

• Prepare and present infection control and quality reports

• Support regulatory survey readiness and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines

• Active Florida RN License (required)

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility or nursing home

• Certification or specialized training in Infection Prevention & Control (preferred)

• Experience with Point Click Care  (PCC) (preferred)

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
