About the Position
We are seeking a qualified Infection Prevention and Control Officer to administer the infection prevention program in a long‑term care and short‑term rehabilitation/sub‑acute care nursing center. The role involves managing COVID/Flu testing schedules, educating staff on CDC updates, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities- Administer the Infection Prevention and Control Program in a long‑term care and short‑term rehabilitation/sub‑acute care nursing center.
- Identify, investigate, report, prevent, and control the spread of acquired infections among residents, staff, and guests. Manage and administer the center's COVID/Flu testing schedules as needed and provide staff education on CDC updates, including proper use of PPD.
- Serve as the center’s knowledge specialist in CDC, Joint Commission, and Occupational Health standards, as well as federal and state regulations related to infection prevention and control in skilled nursing facilities.
- Associate’s degree in nursing (ASN) required.
- RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Minimum one year of nursing experience. Experience in long‑term care/sub‑acute care nursing preferred.
- Experience in Infection Prevention and Control with knowledge of patient care practices.
- Completion of Infection Prevention training/IPCO certification within 5 days of employment.
