Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in the day to day operation of the golf course and clubhouse landscaping. This includes managing and working alongside a staff of +/- 15 crew members, spraying chemicals/ fertilizer, spreading fertilizer, hand watering, irrigation repair and regular maintenance, diagnosing irrigation issues, operating mowers, tractors, and many other pieces of equipment. Also responsible for overseeing landscaping throughout the course, and clubhouse areas.
Candidates must be willing to work alongside the director of agronomy and golf course superintendent in coordinating day to day tasks and implement the agronomic program. Candidates must be detail oriented to continue to provide a high quality golf course for the membership. The candidate should be able to operate a digital workboard, run irrigation through the Toro Lynx irrigation program, use moisture management tools, gps technology, and the willingness and ability to learn new things.
Proper record keeping of irrigation flow totals and chemical and fertilizer applications is a must as well. Most importantly this person must be willing to work together as a team, show up to work consistently and on time, have a positive and friendly attitude, and be willing to learn and contribute to the betterment of the club.
