Assist in driving sales, service, and customer experience initiatives to achieve sales, KPIs and other store performance goals. Regularly monitor customer service and selling models to ensure all staff interact with customers professionally; resolve all customer complaints. Direct work as needed, celebrate and recognize the team’s efforts and accomplishments, and maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude in the workplace.

Protect employees and customers by maintaining a safe and clean store environment. Account for the cleanliness and well-being of all livestock, including animal care and feeding. Motivate, coach, develop and performance manage teams focused on the expected customer experience and selling model.

Ensure brand standards and operational excellence are maintained. Manage the fish system, including inventory, ordering, and adherence to budgets. Assist the Store Manager in ordering within budget and conducting physical inventories to meet shrink goals, and support overall training and staffing.

Understand the business and monitor performance throughout each shift. React to business needs.

Minimum qualifications:

2 years in a retail management role; college degree an asset; experience with animals.

Ability to work a flexible, rotating schedule including morning, evenings, weekends and holidays (2 closing shifts per week, 1 full weekend every period, 1 full weekend off when possible). Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a motor vehicle.

Heavy lifting up to 55 lbs several times per shift; tasks require standing, moving, and occasional solitary work; potential accidental injuries from pets.
