• Sales Leadership – Assist customers and lead the team in driving sales, service, and customer experience initiatives in store to achieve sales, KPIs and store performance goals.
• Customer Excellence – Partner with the Store Manager to plan and execute community events and develop mutually beneficial business relationships with various rescue agencies.
• Operations & Team Building – Supports, understands, and is accountable for maintaining store standards and meeting all safety requirements; clean pet enclosures, maintain fish system, restock merchandise, perform inventory, and handle opening and closing procedures.
• Business Insight – Regularly monitor business throughout the shift and react to business needs; support new hire training and merchandising guidelines.

• Minimum 1 year retail or customer service experience
• Enjoy working with and around animals
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule (morning, evenings, weekends and/or holidays)
• Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle preferred

Several duties require physical exertion and dexterity. Heavy lifting up to 55 lbs may be repeatedly required several times throughout a shift. Majority of tasks do not require long periods of mental concentration, but active listening and observation are required when communicating with customers and employees. Works in a relatively temperature‑stable environment and may occasionally need to work alone. Accidental injuries from pets are possible.

Common injuries include slips, trips, falls, and strains/sprains due to lifting.
