Food & Beverage Team Leader

Pay Range: $21.75–$37.00 per hour. Your hourly rate depends on the labor market, experience, education, and certifications.

The Food & Beverage Team Leader ensures the guest experience remains consistent and high‑quality by managing operations, staffing, compliance, and inventory for the Food & Beverage area.

• Deliver the guest‑experience commitments and ensure team members understand and consistently fulfill Target’s guest experience standards.
• Plan daily and weekly workloads, prioritize tasks, and adjust staffing to meet sales goals and guest traffic.
• Lead a team of hourly team members: interview, train, coach, evaluate, retain, and develop talent.
• Maintain the Food & Beverage standards walk: assess backroom and sales‑floor areas, enforce safety and inventory policies, and ensure product availability.
• Use store reporting and metrics to identify improvement opportunities, celebrate wins, and drive results.
• Coordinate with vendors to maintain product stock and brand standards, and place store‑initiated orders.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and back‑up duties such as cashier, order pickup, and drive‑up support.
• Serve as a compliance champion for federal, state, and local beverage laws, food‑safety standards, and store security protocols.
• Model a safety culture, recognize safe behaviors, address hazards, and assist with incident response.
• Assist store leadership with communication, strategy, and alignment on daily and long‑term objectives.
• Support any additional duties required by business needs and store emergencies.

• Minimum of 18 years old with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
• Experience in retail or food service preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lead, hold others accountable, and communicate effectively across multiple devices.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and staying composed in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift or move up to 44 pounds, climb ladders, and work in refrigeration or freezer temperatures.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Strong interpersonal skills: welcoming and helpful towards guests and teammates.
